Cucurbita pepo
(Squash, Pumpkin)
Variety: Pepita, Hybrid
Annual | 90 Days to Mature | Seed-Eating
I've been on the hunt for some time now to find a pumpkin variety for a pepita harvest. I'm hoping this is the find I've been searching for. Pinetree states:
An award-winning pumpkin, the Pepitas Pumpkin is known for its hull-less or “naked seeds” that lack the tough outer husk-like other pumpkin seeds. Highly nutritious seeds can be eaten fresh or slow roasted with spices and herbs or dry and store for later use. Vigorous plants produce 5-6 medium-sized, 9-12 lb light orange fruits with green stripes with edible flesh. Powdery mildew tolerant.
First purchased in November 2025 for the 2026 growing season.
